The AX411 initially comes up, but after it is power cycled, the status is shown as off
. Even after repeated trials and restarting of wireless-lan-service, the status does not return to UP.
This article describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
The AX411 initially comes up but after it is power cycled by
- unplugging device from external power source or
- detaching from SRX or
- rebooting SRX
the status is shown as
off
.
Before power cycle:
root@srx# run show wlan access-points
Active access points information
Access-Point Type Interface Radio-mode/Channel
AP2 Ext vlan.0 an/44, bgn/5
After power cycle by unplugging the AX411 from SRX:
[edit wlan access-point AP2]
root@srx# run show wlan access-points
Active access points information
Access-Point Type Interface Radio-mode/Channel
AP2 Ext vlan.0 None, None
To see this issue in the AX411, run the following command:
root@srx# show system processes
wireless-lan-service {
traceoptions {
file wland.log;
flag all;
}
}
Look for the following error in the wland.log
:
Jan 9 05:06:28 error: Invalid country code BE (Belgium) for access point AP2 with regulatory domain FCC.
If the wland.log
does not capture anything ,restart wireless-lan-service. It will start capturing logs after the message :
Jan 9 05:09:34 Starting app wland, pid 24762
Jan 9 05:09:34 wland_lic_uds_ack_cb(): ACK received 0 1
This indicates that there is a mismatch between the country code and the Band Plan/SKU supported in that country.
Check the Band Plan/SKU for the AX411. It can be found on the back of AX411, along with the serial number.
Refer to AX411 Access Point Country and Channel Support to see if the Band Plan/SKU is supported for the country code in the configuration. There is probably a mismatch between the SKU-ID of the device, listed on the back, and the Band Plan/SKU for the configured country code in use.
Choose a country from AX411 Access Point Country and Channel Support that supports the SKU-ID for the AX411 device. Configure this country code and restart the wireless-lan-service
.
Verify that the Access Point comes online.
[edit wlan access-point AP2]
Active access points information
Access-Point Type Interface Radio-mode/Channel
AP2 Ext vlan.0 an/44, bgn/4
Unplug the AX411 from the SRX, this time with the correct country code. After a few minutes, check the status of the Access Points:
root@srx# run show wlan access-points AP2
Active access points information
Access-Point Type Interface Radio-mode/Channel
AP2 Ext vlan.0 an/44, bgn/2
