This article provides information on how to upgrade the MSS version of a controller via RingMaster.
To perform the upgrade, the following conditions must be met:
- The current RingMaster version is at least the same version as that of the MSS version, which is to be uploaded to the controller. The RingMaster application cannot handle MSS versions that are higher than its own (for example, if RingMaster is running 7.7, you will be able to upgrade the controllers to only MSS 7.7; but not 8.0 or later).
- Connectivity via the IP is present between the RingMaster application and the controller.
- Access to the image repositories from RingMaster is available.
- No differences between the configuration on the controller and the one in Ringmaster for the same controller are present.
When all of the above conditions are met, you can upgrade the controller via the following procedure:
- Open RingMaster, click the Devices tab, and then Device Operations, which is located at the bottom right-hand corner, and then Image Repository:

- The Image Repository window is displayed. You can either select the new image from the list (if it has been previously added) or add it by clicking the Add image button:

- After the new image has been added to the repository, you can then select the controller to upgrade, click Image Install, and select the new image that has to be installed:

- The Install Images window is displayed; via which the progress of the upgrade can be tracked:
