Summary:
This article describes the issue of being unable to use the loopback interface in a SNMP configuration for the backup device in a Active/Passive cluster.
Symptoms:
Unable to use the loopback interface in a SNMP configuration for the backup device in a Active/Passive cluster.
Cause:
As the loopback interface is configured on the master, it is synchronized with the backup and the loopback interfaces do not have management IP configuration option.
Solution:
In such cases, the use of loopback interfaces is not desirable. You can achieve this, if the interfaces have the management IP address configuration option.
