[Junos Space] Security Director Offline IDP (IPS) Signature update procedure

Summary:

This article provides information on how to perform an offline IDP (IPS) signature update.

Symptoms:

If your Junos Space installation does not have Internet connection, you will need to update your signatures offline.

Solution:

Perform the following:

  1. On a workstation that does have Internet connection, download the latest Signature Update from the following link: http://signatures.juniper.net/space/2/latest/latest-space-update.zip

  2. Go to Security Director > Administration > Signature Database > Upload from File System.

Note: If an older version is needed for offline use, replace <Desired Version> in the URL below with the version number that you need:

Reference: If the file upload to Junos Space is failing, check KB36892 - Unable to upload Offline Signature bundles over 1GB to Junos Space.

Modification History:

2021-05-12: Added a reference link to another KB on what should be done if file upload to Junos Space fails

2020-01-16: Removed an incorrect step to copy the downloaded file to the Space server. It is not required since the file needs to be uploaded from the UI.

2019-02-25: Added a note in the Solution section on using an older version offline.
