Cause:

Solution:
  • From 6.1.0 onwards, on the SSG-5 or SSG-20 device, it is no longer possible to login via the AUX port as an alternative to the console.

  • The AUX port access to the firewall is possible only via a modem.

  • To enable this functionality, enable set int ser0/0 modem dial-in enable.

  • By default, this setting is off on the firewall for security reasons.
