Article ID: KB27733 KB Last Updated: 10 Oct 2020Version: 2.0

This article provides information on how to configure the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) on Juniper Networks WLC Series Wireless LAN Controllers.

Configuration on WLC

WLC# set web-portal enable
WLC# set service-profile WebPortal ssid-name XWebPortalLdap
WLC# set service-profile WebPortal ssid-type clear
WLC# set service-profile WebPortal auth-fallthru web-portal
WLC# set service-profile WebPortal web-portal-acl portalacl
WLC# set service-profile WebPortal attr vlan-name MD424
WLC# set ldap server ldaps3 address fqdn
WLC# set ldap server group ldapgroup members ldaps3
WLC# set authentication web ssid XWebPortalLdap ** ldapgroup

The fqdn (from the ldap server command) is the Windows Server full computer name.

On a Windows Server, configure only a user in Active Directory.

Issue ldap-ping command on WLC:

WLC# ldap-ping server <ldap server name> login <username> password <user password>

Note: Tested with Windows Server 2003 Version 5.2 R2 and Windows Server 2008 version 6.0 (Service Pack 1).
