How to find the username used to discover a Junos Space device

Article ID: KB29080 KB Last Updated: 11 Feb 2019Version: 4.0

This article explains how to find the username that was used to discover a device on a Junos Space platform.

  • Junos Space uses the username that discovered a device to manage the device.
  • To manage a device, it is necessary to find the username associated with it.
  • The WebUI does not have an option to show the username associated with a device.

Follow these steps to discover the username associated with a device. Junos Space uses the 'username' to connect to a device.

  1. Log in to Junos Space CLI and switch to debug console (option 6 for JA1500 and option 7 for Space-VA).

  2. Run the following command:
    [root@space-005000000200 ~]# mysql -ujboss -p$(grep mysql.jboss /etc/sysconfig/JunosSpace/pwd | awk -F= '{print $2}') build_db -e "SELECT, dcm.adminname FROM LogicalDevice ld INNER JOIN DeviceConnectionManagement dcm ON;"‚Äč
  3. The results will appear similar to the following:
Warning: Using a password on the command line interface can be insecure.
    | name                  | adminname |
    | DeviceHostname        | root      |

In the example above, "root" user is used to discover the device where "DeviceHostname" is the name of the device shown in the DeviceManagement page within the Junos Space WebUI .
Modification History:
2019/02/07 - Changed the command which can be used for all Space version, also added for Public view.
