This article provides the steps for upgrading the OS version on a ScreenOS device via NSM.

Upgrade OS version of Screen OS via NSM GUI.

Upgrading the OS version of the ScreenOS device via the NSM GUI

  1. Download the Software Image file from the Juniper Support site to the computer on which the NSM UI Client is running.

  2. Copy the image file to a repository on the server using the NSM Software Manager.

To access the Software Manager: From the Device Manager launchpad, select Manage Device Software (select Tools > Software Manager from the menu bar, as below).

  3. The Software Manager lists all software image files in the repository.

To add the one you just downloaded, click the Add icon, navigate to the software image file you just downloaded, and then click Open.

  4. Select the software image file you want to install and the devices you want to install it on using the Install Device Software wizard.

To access the Software wizard: From the Device Manager launchpad, select Install Device Software (select Devices >Software> Install Device Software, as below).

  5. When using the Install Device Software wizard, you must specify the device family by selecting the OS name. All software image files available for the selected OS are then listed.

  6. Select the devices on which you want to install the software image file.

The wizard responds by informing you that it is ready to perform the upgrade, or responds with an error message if the upgrade is not allowed.
