This article answers the question, "Can Domain Names be reported instead of IP addresses in Traffic logs?"

Symptoms:

Syslog is configured on the firewall to send Traffic and Event logs to an external server. Is it possible to send the Domain Names instead of the IP addresses in the Traffic log entries that are sent to the Syslog server?

Solution:

In accordance with firewall design, only IP addresses are logged in the Traffic and Event log entries.
