[Archive] [Junos Space] Display issue with View Physical Inventory page on platform

  [KB30498] Show Article Properties

Summary:

When you log in to the Junos Space Web UI, select the device, right-click, and navigate to Device Inventory > View Physical inventory, the new window doesn't display the inventory information. However, you can export the inventory to a CSV file and view the details.

Symptoms:

Inventory information is not displayed when navigating to the Device Inventory > View Physical inventory window.

Cause:

The reason for the display issue is that Junos Space cannot handle the special character ' (single apostrophe), as shown in the output below in the 'installedVersion' column of the mysql database table equipment.

[root@space~]# mysql -u jboss -pnetscreen build_db

[root@space~]#select e.id,e.name, e.installedModel, e.installedPartNumber, e.installedSerialNumber, e.installedVersion, e.path, e.manufacturer, l.name, l.platform from Equipment e, LogicalDevice l where installedVersion like "%\'" and e.deviceId=l.id;

Solution:

Replace the special character with NULL, and Junos Space will be able to fetch the inventory information, for example:

update Equipment set installedVersion=' ' where id=16549949;
update Equipment set installedVersion=' ' where id=16550169;
update Equipment set installedVersion=' ' where id=24970241;
update Equipment set installedVersion=' ' where id=24970173;

[root@space~]# quit

Log in to the Junos Space Web UI and you should be able to view the inventory details for the device.

This issue is seen as of Junos Space Release 14.1R3.
