[MX] Limitation on MPCE Type 1 3D Q card for ingress-and-egress mode

Summary:

The MPCE Type 1 3D Q card for ingress-and-egress mode is limited to 10 ports. The 3D 20x 1GE(LAN) SFP MIC may apply ingress-and-egress to a single PIC. This limitation is unique to MPCE Type 1 3D Q cards.

Users should apply ingress-and-egress mode to remain within 10 ports when using MPCE TYPE 1 3D Q cards.

Symptoms:

The following example uses 3D 20x 1GE(LAN) SFP MIC to verify that the MPCE Type 1 3D Q card for ingress-and-egress mode is limited to 10 ports.

Two PICs are configured as follows, and the total number of ports within those PICs exceed 10. The PIC with a lower index number will properly use ingress-and-egress mode while the other PICs will not function correctly.

   set chassis fpc X pic 0 traffic-manager mode ingress-and-egress
   set chassis fpc X pic 1 traffic-manager mode ingress-and-egress

PIC 0 displays correct interface information.

Cause:

The MPCE Type 1 3D Q card is designed to limit the ingress-and-egress mode to 10 ports. This limitation is due to a shortage of ASIC's scheduling resources. It is not applicable to other enhanced queuing cards.

Solution:

Be sure to apply ingress-and-egress mode to remain within 10 ports when using MPCE TYPE 1 3D Q.
