[WLA/WLC] How to download and upload web-portal html or logo files to and from web directory using TFTP server

Article ID: KB31535 KB Last Updated: 28 Nov 2017Version: 1.0

This article explains how to download (default) and upload (customized) web-portal html/logo files to/from WLC controller web directories using TFTP server.

I need to:

  1. Customize my web-portal login page.
  2. Modify the "LOGO" of my web-portal login page.
  1. First, verify the files (HTML/LOGO) are present in the web folder by using the following command:

    #dir web/
  2. Copy a file from MX to TFTP server:

    copy web/<filename> tftp://<TFTP_IP>/<filename>

Note: Ensure that the file will be saved to the directory which is mentioned in the TFTP server.
  3. Copy “Html” file and the logo (in .GIF format) to the web folder via tftp:

    copy tftp://<ip-address of the tftp server>/<filename.html> web/<filename.html>
    copy tftp://<ip-address of the tftp server>/LOGO.gif web/LOGO.gif

Note: By default, “WEB” directory will hold “HTML” and “LOGO” files. But in some instances, those files will be placed in a new directory of the WLC/MX controller. Hence, we need to copy the “HTML” and “LOGO” files into the newly created directory instead of “WEB” directory. Please note that the supported format for “LOGO” are *.gif, *.jpg, *.jpeg images.
