[NFX] Example - Configuring enhanced-orchestration on ATT NFX

Article ID: KB32008 KB Last Updated: 23 Jun 2020Version: 3.0

This article explains how to configure enhanced-orchestration on an ATT NFX device.

NFX devices that include a SKU with the term "ATT" will, by default, have enhanced-orchestration disabled, as well as default bridge configurations in Juniper Device Manager (JDM). To convert an ATT NFX device into an NFX device with enhanced-orchestration, perform the following steps:

  1. Delete the eth0 and eth0br interfaces.

    delete interface eth0
    delete interface eth0br

  2. Delete the route statement.

    delete route
  3. Delete groups (which will also remove all the bridge and hsxe interface information).

    delete groups
  4. Delete apply-groups.

    delete apply-groups
  5. Enable enhanced-orchestration.

    set system services enhanced-orchestration
  6. Set the out-of-band (OOB) interface, jmgmt0.0, with the appropriate OOB IP address.

set interfaces jmgmt0 unit 0 family inet address
  7. Set the static route by using the set routing-options static route command.

    set routing-options static route 0/0 next-hop
  8. Delete virtual machines.

    delete virtual-machines
  9. Commit.

  10. Reboot the device (request system reboot)

Note: If you run 'request system zeroize', you will have to re-configure 'enhanced-orchestration' with the same steps as above.
Modification History:

2018-05-30: Minor corrections to syntax on step 1; jmgmt interface name corrected. Other minor modifications (non-technical) made.
2020-06-17: Added step 10, where a reboot is required in order to work on the device in enhanced-orchestration.
