[Contrail] Data to be collected before opening a JTAC case

0

0

Article ID: KB32131 KB Last Updated: 11 Dec 2020Version: 5.0
Summary:

This article answers the following question: What information should I collect to assist in troubleshooting prior to opening a Service Request (case)?

Solution:

For troubleshooting a Contrail case, the Data Collection Checklist - Logs/data to collect for troubleshooting is as follows:

  1. Contrail Version

Run the following command on any of the Contrail nodes:

#docker ps‚Äč

Note: contrail-version is required instead of docker ps for older, non-container Contrail versions.

  1. Openstack/Docker/Kubernetes/VMware SKU

Specify the Cloud orchestrator.

  1. Contrail Logs

All the Contrail logs are located under the /var/log/contrail/ directory. TAR the directory (tar -zcf contrail-logs.tgz /var/log/contrail/), and share with JTAC (by attaching to the SR).

Note: For Contrail Controller related issues, collect logs from all Contrail Controller nodes.

  1. Contrail Process Status

Run the following command on any Contrail node to find all the Contrail process statuses running on that node:

#contrail-status -d
  1. Type of Deployment

Provide a brief idea about the type of deployment, for example:

  • Contrail Cloud or Contrail Networking

  • Number of Contrail Controller nodes, Compute nodes, Openstack Controller nodes and so on
