[ScreenOS] Static routes added to custom VR configured via Web GUI does not propagate between Master and Backup in NSRP

Summary:

In order for a static route to sync from the Master firewall to the Backup firewall, you must enable ‘Sync VR configure to the peer’

Symptoms:

If We create a route other than gateway tracking and local routes in the Custom VR using Web GUI it will not be synced to the standby if we haven't enable the option ‘Sync VR configure to the NSRP peer’.

Solution:

To get a static route to sync from the Master firewall to the Backup firewall, you must enable ‘Sync VR configure to the NSRP peer’.

CLI

The following command will be propagated to the backup device:

set vr<name of customer VR>
set nsrp-config-sync
exit
 

Web GUI

  1. Go to Network Routing > Virtual Router> Edit
  2. Check the option ‘Sync VR configure to the NSRP peer’
