This article explains the meaning and impact of the following syslog message:

PFE-BCM-L2,pfe_bcm_multicast_hw_create(),93:sw_mc_idx: 0x10, bcm_mc_idx: 0x2000010 new_mcast_nh(TRUE) glob-mc-idx: 0x2000010 created

Symptoms:

This message is seen on an EX4300 switch after adding the Pim/multicast routes.

Solution:

When Pim/multicast routes are added, PFE receives a message from the RE to create a new mc-idx in the hardware. These messages are harmless and can be ignored.
 
To suppress these syslog messages, use the follwoing configuration:

root#set system syslog file messages match "!(.*pfe_bcm_multicast_hw_create().*)"
