Dual tagged frames are dropped on the ICL link in QFX5100

Article ID: KB32197 KB Last Updated: 30 Sep 2017Version: 1.0

This article explains the limitation for dual tagged frames passing in MC-LAG setup through interchassis link (ICL). The limitation causes the dual tagged frames to be dropped on the ICL link in QFX5100.

Dual tagged frames are dropped on the ICL link.

The problem is specific to the ICL link if the traffic is diverged through an interface other than the ICL link. For example, trunk flexible VLAN tagging interface connecting to the MCLAG peer, then the issue is no longer seen

The dual-tag over ICL link is not supported. This is a limitation in MC-LAG environment for dual tag frames over ICL link.
