This article provides information about uninstalling earlier versions of RingMaster on a Linux server machine, which is essential to be able to start the RingMaster service after upgrading to RingMaster 9.2 from any earlier version.

It is the solution for the critical error message that is displayed when the RingMaster application is launched after upgrade to version 9.2.

Symptoms:

The critical error message: “The server is currently unavailable due to critical errors encountered during startup” is displayed when the RingMaster service is launched after upgrade to version 9.2.

Solution:

To be able to launch the upgraded RingMaster 9.2 service without encountering errors, a clean installation of RingMaster 9.2 must be performed by first uninstalling the earlier versions. The steps to uninstall RingMaster are as follows:

  1. SSH into Linux VM as the root user to access RingMaster via the Command Line Interface (CLI).

  2. Use the following commands to stop the RingMaster service by navigating to the folder in which the services reside:
    cd /opt/ringmaster/bin/
    ./rm-services stop
  3. Uninstall the current RingMaster version from the Ringmaster folder by using the following command:
    cd /opt/ringmaster/UninstallerData/Uninstall RingMaster
  4. When the "Uninstall RingMaster” file is executed, a graphical user interface is displayed on the machine on which you are using putty.

  5. Click “Uninstall” to remove the features installed by RingMaster's “InstallAnywhere,” including files, folder, launcher, registry, shortcuts, and LaunchAnywhere.

  6. The RingMaster Uninstall Options dialog box opens. Do not select the first two check boxes from the list in the dialog box. Click “Continue.” If you select the first two check boxes, your current Network Plan/License will be deleted from RingMaster.

  7. The features as mentioned in Step 5 will be removed.

  8. Click Done to complete the “Uninstall” process.
