[Archive] [WLC] How to add AP licenses for JunosV controller

Article ID: KB32482 KB Last Updated: 10 Oct 2020Version: 2.0
Summary:
This article explains how to add AP licenses to the JunosV (virtual) controller
Solution:
The procedure for adding the AP licenses in the JunosV controller is different when compared to other controller models like WLC2, WLC8, WLC100, WLC200, WLC800, WLC880R, and WLC2800.  The physical hardware devices require the administrator to generate and extract the authorization code before applying the license; this is not the case with the JunosV controller.  With JunosV, after purchasing the AP upgrade license, simply apply the license.

Apply the license to the JunosV controller using the command:
VWLC# set license ap <license key>

After adding the license key, verify the added license count using the command:
VWLC# show license
