Article ID: KB32525 KB Last Updated: 17 Jun 2020Version: 2.0

This article provides configuration guidance on disconnecting wireless clients for users configured in SmartPass.

Configuration in the controller:

set service-profile test-web ssid-name TAC-test
set service-profile test-web ssid-type clear
set service-profile test-web auth-fallthru web-portal
set service-profile test-web web-portal-form
set service-profile test-web web-portal-acl testacl
set service-profile test-web attr vlan-name default
set radio-profile test-web service-profile test-web
set radius server smartpass address auth-port 1818 timeout 5 retransmit 3 deadtime 0 encrypted-key 10441c170c0717195d5679
set server group smartpass-grp members smartpass
set radius dac smartpass address replay-protect disable encrypted-key 0119130a521b031d701e1d
set authentication web ssid TAC-test ** smartpass-grp
set authorization dynamic ssid TAC-test smartpass
set security acl name testacl permit udp eq 68 eq 67
set security acl name testacl permit ip
set security acl name testacl deny capture

Configuration on SmartPass

  1. From SmartPass, go to Setup > Radius Client Settings

IP address of the RADIUS client will be WLC's IP.
  2. Create a username with the 1 hour duration using Users > Create User > Add user

  3. Create the SSID using Setup > Web Portal Management > Add Web Portal Configuration

Now, connect the wireless client and verify the successful connection from the CLI of the controller:

  4. In SmartPass, navigate to Users > Sessions Monitoring and client state will be showing as active.

  5. Disconnect the user by selecting the user, then select disconnect option.

  6. After selecting the disconnect option, the client is disconnected dynamically from SmartPass.

The steps above clears the user session from Smartpass rather than clearing from the controller.
