Summary:

This article will help you to run the auto-tune channel manually in Wireless Controller (WLC).

 

Symptoms:
  • Wireless clients do not roam seamlessly between access points.

  • Wireless clients face frequent wireless disconnection.

  • Neighbor access points may have same channels in Radio 1 and Radio 2.

 

Solution:

Use the following commands to run the auto-tune channel manually on the Wireless Controller:

WLC#​ set auto-tune channel band 11bg mode disable
WLC#​ set auto-tune channel band 11a mode disable

WLC# clear rfdetect data all
WLC# clear auto-tune cache

Wait for 15 to 20 minutes.

WLC#​ set auto-tune channel band 11bg mode enable
WLC#​ set auto-tune channel band 11a mode enable

WLC#​ run auto-tune deployment band 11bg
WLC#​ run auto-tune deployment band 11a

Wait for 24 hours for the channels to be changed in all the APs.
