This article explains how to disable the 802.11b legacy clients for each service profile by using RingMaster.



Disabling the 802.11b legacy clients by using RingMaster involves two steps:

  1. Disabling the 802.11b legacy clients in the service profile (these clients can be disabled per service profile)

  2. Enabling data rate enforcement for the respective radio profile

Disabling the 802.11b legacy clients

  1. From the organizer panel, click Wireless > Wireless Services on the Configuration tab.

  2. From the configuration panel, select a Wireless Service Profile for which the legacy client is to be disabled. Click Properties as shown in the following screenshot:

  1. On the Service Profile Properties tab, click the Allowed Client Types tab.

  2. Deselect the 802.11b check box from the Allowed Client Types list and click OK:

  1. Save the changes.

Enabling data rate enforcement

  1. Data rate enforcement is disabled by default. To enable data rate enforcement for a radio profile, from RingMaster, select Radio Profiles under Wireless.

  2. In the Radio Profiles panel, click Properties for the Radio Profile and click the "802.11 Attributes" tab.

  1. Select the "Enable Rate Enforcement” check box on the 802.11 Attributes tab and click OK to apply the changes.
