[Archive] How to upgrade WLM1200-RMTS to version

This article provides instructions on how to upgrade your ​WLM1200-RMTS appliance to version


After upgrading is complete, you may not be able to access the RingMaster Web GUI or you will not be able to view the RF plan.

  1. Login to the Ringmaster appliance via SSH or console.

  2. Stop the Ringmaster service using the following command:
    # rm-services stop.

  3. Using WIN SCP, take the complete back up of the Ringmaster folder from the location /root/var/ to a safer location.

  4. Start the Ringmaster Services using the following command:
    # rm-services restart.

  5. Login to the Ringmaster GUI and make sure you have all the RF Plan (Building, Floors).

  6. Click on the Services tab at the top and select Backup & Restore.

  7. Under Backups, provide a new backup file name. Uncheck the box (include monitoring database), then click the Create Backup button.

  8. Do the step 7 again by providing the different backup file name and select the checkbox (include monitoring database). Then click the Create Backup button.

  9. Download both files to the safer location.

  10. Go to Ringmaster Appliance via SSH or console.

  11. Stop the Ringmaster service using the following command:
    # rm-services stop.

  12. Login to the Ringmaster Appliance using WIN SCP software and go to the location /root/var/ringmaster/derby/services-db

  13. Delete all files and folders inside services-db.

  14. Go back to /root/var/ringmaster

  15. Delete the .services_keystore file.

  16. Rename the config-db to config-db_old.

  17. Access the Ringmaster platform settings using the link https://<IP ADDRESS OF THE RINGMASTER>:8003.

  18. Go to the Setup tab and click Upgrade and install the image <software_Version> file. Then reboot.

  19. Once upgrade is complete, open Ringmaster GUI to check whether you have all the controller under devices.

  20. If there are no controllers, you need to restore the file which you took on step 7 (Do not use the file which you took on step 8).

  21. Once restore is complete, you can see the controllers and the RF PLAN in the RingMaster GUI.
