[WLC] Configuring AP-Affinity-Group from the WLC CLI

Summary:

Affinity groups enable boot-up of all the access points (APs) on a particular Wireless Controller (WLC) or the boot-up of all the APs in a specific network.

This article describes the procedure to configure AP-Affinity-Group from the Command Line Interface (CLI) of a Wireless Controller (WLC).

 

Solution:
  • To boot a particular AP on a specific controller, use the following command:

WLC# set mobility-domain ap-affinity-group address <AP IP ADDRESS> netmask <255.255.255.255>.
  • To boot the APs of a specific network, use the following command:

WLC# set mobility-domain ap-affinity-group address <Network IP> netmask <subnet mask>.

Note: It is not valid to use the Controller IP here.
