Summary:

This article provides the steps to enable log trace via Ringmaster for performing diagnostic routines.

Solution:
  1. Login to Ringmaster application with your username and password.

  2. From the top navigation bar, click Configuration.

  3. In the Organizer panel, select the controller and click on the plus sign next to the controller.

  4. Select Log. Log and trace setting appear in the content panel.

  5. Below the Tasks panel, select Create Trace Area.

  6. In the Area filled, select the trace name on the drop-down list and enter the level (0 to 10)

    NOTE: Level" determines the quantity of information included in the output. You can set the level with an integer from 1 to 10, where level 10 provides the most information. Levels 1 through 5 provide user-readable information. If you do not specify a level, level 5 is the default.



     

  7. Optionally, in the User Name field, type the username to trace. Specify a username no longer than 60 alphanumeric characters that contain no spaces or tab characters to filter the trace using username.

  8. Optionally, in the MAC Address field, type the MAC address to trace. Specify a MAC address, using colons to separate the octets (for example, co:ee:fb:24:1b:cc) to filter the trace using client mac address.

  9. Optionally, in the Port Name field, type the port number to filter the trace using the port number.

  10. Click Finish.

    Note: under the Trace table you can see the list of enabled traces

     

  11. Click Review to review the local changes

  12. Then Click on deploy to deploy the changes to the controller.
