[Archive] How to save and download the current configuration file from the WLC

Summary:

This article provides the steps to save and download the current configuration file from the WLC via the WEB interface. This may be needed if you are:
1) Upgrading the WLC controller or
2) If there are major changes to be made on the WLC controller.

Solution:

Step 1: Log into the Web GUI of the controller using Username "admin" and Password "Enable password" of the WLC controller.

Step 2: Click on the Maintain tab, and then click on Start from Manage Configurations.

Step 3: Choose Operation and select Save current configuration from the drop-down list and click on Next.

Step 4: In the name field enter the filename (File will be saved to the Non-volatile memory of the WLC Controller), and click Save Configuration.

Step 5: Repeat Step 2.

Step 6: Choose operation and select Manage locally saved configuration from the drop-down list and click on Next

Step 7: A list of files saved on the controller are displayed. Click on Download in order to download the file and save it to the safest location of a Server/PC.
