[Archive] Monitoring performance of radios used by a group of users on RingMaster

Summary:

This article details the steps to troubleshoot poor wireless performance on RingMaster by assessing the performance statistics and trends for the radios associated with the group of users that use them.

Symptoms:

If a group of users in a specific area of a floor say that they are experiencing poor performance, you can target a radio or the radios that those users are associating with and view the performance statistics and trends for those radios.

Solution:

To monitor performance statistics for a group of users, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Monitor button on the main RingMaster navigation bar.
  2. Expand the Equipment list in the Organizer panel and select a radio. Monitor the views display summary information for a selected radio.

  1. Click Details in the Traffic Summary view to move to a Radio Status view.

  1. Click an option under Statistics in the Tasks panel to display the Performance - Per Radio Error Statistics dialog box for a radio, as shown in the example below.

 

To view RF trends for an individual radio:

  1. Click the Monitor button on the main RingMaster navigation bar.
  2. Expand the Equipment list in the Organizer panel and select a radio to display the Monitor views for a radio.

  3. Click Details in the Traffic Summary view to switch to the Radio Monitor view.

  4. Click one of the options under Trends in the Tasks panel to display the trend information for a radio. The selected trend information is displayed in the Content panel. In the example below, trends for Noise Floor, SNR, and RSSI over the past 24 hours are displayed.
