  [KB33563] Show Article Properties

Summary:

In a Subscriber Management environment, the following message may sometimes be seen: "Dec 10 23:45:55  router-re0 bbe=smgd[26875]: %DAEMON-3: dprof_process_request: Resource usage of the FPC exceeded threshold."

This article explains the meaning of this message.

Cause:

The message indicates that a dynamic profile could not be created for the subscriber and therefore, the subscriber cannot log in. This is due to exceeding the usage of Flexible PIC Concentrator (FPC) resources such as memory for NextHop, Heap, or Filters.

Solution:

To check the current usage of FPC resources, use the following commands:

  • show system resource-monitor fpc slot <x> for a specific FPC

  • show system resource-monitor summary for all FPCs

For example:

labroot@router-re0> show system resource-monitor fpc slot 9

FPC Resource Usage Summary

1           NA               20 *                41 ---> Free next-hop memory is 20%.

labroot@router-re0>  show system resource-monitor summary
