Show system commit on Junos Device does not List Space user when update is done by Security Director

Article ID: KB33731 KB Last Updated: 09 Jan 2019Version: 1.0

Junos device, "show system commit" does not list the Junos Space username that made the configuration update in Security Director.

Example of 'show system commit' output when update is done by Junos Space Platform:

1 2018-11-27 16:23:21 UTC by admin via netconf

When updates are done by Junos Space Security Director:
2018-12-03 15:09:20 UTC by user123 via netconf
SD Update - job id: [458864]%changeType:inband%nodeId:node0%spaceUser:null%jobId:458867%crId:32778%moduleName:SD%

Security Director does not pass the username information to Space Platform when the update is triggered.

The only available method to determine the Junos Space username that triggered the operation from Junos Space is to match the JobID on SRX CLI to the JobID in Junos Space Job Manager or Audit Logs.

Versions up to Junos Space Security Director 18.3R1 have been confirmed to have this behavior.
