[Archive] [WLC] How to setup Banner Acknowledge message in the controller

Article ID: KB33959 KB Last Updated: 10 Oct 2020Version: 2.0

This article explains how the Banner Acknowledge feature works in the controller.

When you configure the banner acknowledge command in the controller, the user must acknowledge the prompt in order to gain access to the controller.

Commands to enable the banner acknowledge in the controller:

  • WLC#set banner acknowledge mode enable
  • WLC#set banner acknowledge message " Authorized users only"

Once we setup this command, the user must log out from the current Secure shell (SSH) or Telnet session on the controller.

After logging into the controller, you will prompted with the acknowledge message  "Authorized users only". The user has the option of entering the session using the keyword "y" in order to proceed further:

If we use any other key, the session will be terminated
