[WANDL] Device config file does not get updated in GUI

0

0

Article ID: KB33963 KB Last Updated: 28 May 2020Version: 2.0
Summary:

When a task (which captures device configuration) is run and successfully finishes, users do not see the latest revision of the device configuration file in the WANDL GUI even if some changes have been made.

This article discusses the reason that this may be happening and indicates that an upgrade would be the ideal solution.

Symptoms:

The latest revision of the device configuration file is not seen in the WANDL GUI even if some changes have been made.

Cause:

If there has been no change in device configuration since the last task was run, this result is expected. However, if the device configuration is changed and the device configuration file revision is not updated, there may be another cause. For instance, it is known that the issue is encountered if there are special characters in the message banner for the device configuration.

One common example of such a message banner for a device configuration, which includes special characters, is as follows:

set system login message " ******************************************************\n* [WARNING] *\n* This system is owned by ABC. If you are not *\n*
authorized to access this system, exit immediately. *\n* Unauthorized access to this system is forbidden *\n ******************************************\n"
Solution:

This is a known issue that was documented in PR1415279 and has been resolved in WANDL release patch 6.4.0S2.

To resolve the issue, upgrade to the WANDL release in which the fix is available.
