Article ID: KB34198 KB Last Updated: 29 May 2019Version: 1.0
Summary:

Do SRX1400, SRX3K series, and SRX5K using SPC1 support FIPS while using chassis clusters?

Solution:

Chassis Cluster Deployment:

Use of Junos FIPS 12.3X48 software images are not qualified for use while using SRX devices as Chassis Clusters; it is only certified in stand-alone deployments.

Stand-alone Deployment:

Junos FIPS software versions certified for use in SRX1400, SRX3400, SRX3600, SRX5400, SRX5600, SRX5800 using SPC1 is Junos OS 12.3X48-D30. This is also documented in the Compliance Advisor - FIPS Certifications. The OS may be downloaded from the FIPS Download page.

For more information on enabling and configuring Junos FIPS software versions, refer to How to Enable and Configure Junos OS in FIPS-Approved Mode of Operation.

Note: As of Junos OS 15.1X49, FIPS related device restrictions are no longer enabled via the Junos specific FIPS download image, but via enabling FIPS-Mode.
