Summary:

This article summarizes how to create a new SSID using Ringmaster.

Solution:

SSID can be created using following ways:

  1. Using CLI access of the Controller
  2. Using Ringmaster.

If the customer wish to work only with Ringmaster and prefers not to use CLI, then follow these steps to create a SSID using Ringmaster.

  1. Login to Ringmaster using the admin User-name and Password, IP Address and port number. Then click Next.

  2. Go to Devices and check for any changes. If available, deploy the changes.

  3. Go to Configuration > select Wireless > Wireless Services from the right-hand side Organizer tab. Then click Custom Service Profile.

  4. To create a new SSID, a pop-up will appear “Service Profile Identifier”.

Provide the following information, then click next:

    Name: Type the Service-profile name
    SSID: Type the SSID name
SSID Type: Select the type of SSID

Note: You can select either “Encrypted” or “Clear” as SSID Type. Here, for the PSK authentication, we have taken SSID Type as Encrypted.

  5. Select the Access Type of the available options:

    There are 4 options available:

    1. 802.1X ACCESS
    2. MAC ACCESS
    3. OPEN ACCESS
    4. WEB ACCESS

Out of these 4 access types, select one access type according to your choice and then click Next.

  6. Select the Wireless Security: RSN (WPA2) recommended.

  7. Enter the Pre-Shared Key and then click Encrypt to encrypt the password. Then click Next.

  8. Select the Wireless Encryption Cipher Suite (RSN AES (CCMP)).

  9. Select the VLAN Name from the list.
