This article explains how to generate a self-signed certificate for EAP on the WLC via CLI.

Solution:

To generate self-signed certificate for EAP:

  1. Open the putty session and try to access WLC via SSH/Telnet/Console connection.

  2. Use the following commands to regenerate the self-signed certificate for EAP:

    #crypto clear keys type eap
    #crypto clear certificate type eap
    #crypto generate key eap 2048
    #crypto generate self-signed eap
