[CSO] CSO Device Templates: Naming Convention

Article ID: KB34597 KB Last Updated: 20 Jun 2019Version: 1.0

This article explains what Name and Internal Name that are used in device templates are, and shows how the Internal Name column can be enabled for display.

I am unable to find the template - SRX_Advanced_SDWAN_HUB_option_1 under Resources > Device Templates. Where can I find SRX_Advanced_SDWAN_HUB_option_1?

A device template contains configuration and provisioning instructions for a physical device that you manage through Contrail Service Orchestration (CSO). For more information about Device Templates, refer to About the Device Template Page.

Each template contains Name and Internal Name.

  • Name: Display name of the device templates for users

  • Internal Name: Name of the templates used by CSO components for internal communication. Each Internal Name has a mapping to Name for user convenience.

However, the Internal Name column is not enabled by default.

  • To enable the Internal Name of the template so that it is seen, add the column from the Admin Portal > Resources > Device Templates > Show Hide Columns > Select the check box for Internal Name.
