vSRX failures seen after vMotion VMWare migration

Article ID: KB34607 KB Last Updated: 27 Jun 2019Version: 1.0

This article explains the limitation of vSRX 2.0 with respect to vMotion VMware migration.

Unexpected behaviors seen on vSRX 2.0 (standalone or cluster) after vMotion VMWare host migration was done.

Issues seen may include the following (not limited to):

  • Loosing connectivity to the vSRX including access to its management port.
  • Clustering not working as expected.
  • VPN tunnels not working as expected.

vMotion is NOT supported for ANY Junos versions on vSRX 2.0 and if attempted, it could lead to an unexpected behavior with the vSRX in standalone or cluster mode.

Create a new vSRX if the existing instance is unrecoverable with a reboot or continues to exhibit issues.
