Article ID: KB34934 KB Last Updated: 28 Aug 2019Version: 1.0
Summary:

This article discusses the following commit error:

error: Modified profile: X already reached max active versions

Symptoms:
TEST# commit check
re0:
error: Modified profile: Basic already reached max active versions
error: foreign file propagation (ffp) failed
Solution:

When profile versioning is configured, a dynamic-profile can be edited. A maximum of 10 versions of a profile are allowed.

Use the following hidden command to determine how many versions of a specific version are in use. Use 'show subscriber detail' to determine which dynamic profile version a particular subscriber is using.

Example:

JTAC# run show dynamic-profile profile-name Basic

Profile Name Version Number In use
Basic 2 Yes
Basic 3 Yes
Basic 4 Yes
Basic 5 Yes
Basic 6 Yes
Basic 7 Yes
Basic 8 Yes
Basic 9 Yes
Basic 10 Yes
Basic 11 Yes

This example shows that it has reached the configuration limitation of Active Dynamic-profile versions for the Basic dynamic-profile. Therefore, the system will not allow for profile modification.

NOTE: Version numbers are internally maintained. New subscribers login will be use the latest version. The highest version number does not need to be the latest version.
