Article ID: KB34983 KB Last Updated: 19 Sep 2019Version: 1.0
Summary:

This article explains why MX104, MX240, MX480, and MX960 devices show incorrect information for its Modular Interface Cards (MIC) on Connectivity Services Director (CSD) device view.

Symptoms:

Port numbering for specific MIC cards for MX104, MX240, and MX480 devices are shown incorrectly in CSD device view.

To illustrate the issue with MX104, observe the following command output, which shows eight active ports:

user1@MX104> show interfaces descriptions
Interface       Admin Link Description
ge-0/1/0        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBORIRA01 - ge-0/1/1 - FO ###
ge-0/1/1        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBOCCRA01 - ge-0/1/1 - DWDM ###
ge-0/1/2        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBCCHRC01 - ge-0/2/0 - FO ###
ge-0/1/3        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBETDRC01 - ge-0/2/0 - FO ###
ge-0/1/4        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBLPIRC01 - ge-0/2/0 - FO ###
ge-0/1/5        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBMLDRC01 - ge-0/2/0 - FO ###
ge-0/1/6        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBSMTRC01 - ge-0/2/0 - DWDM+FO ###
ge-0/1/7        up    up   ### IPRAN - LINK TO RBBVAMRC01 - ge-0/2/0 - DWDM+FO ###
lo0.0           up    up   ### ROUTER ID ###

The CSD app also shows eight active ports but the port numbering is not correct. ‚ÄčThe highlighted port must be ge-0/0/2 instead of ge-0/1/1.

For MX960, the MIC cards are not displayed at all in CSD device view. The following MIC cards are not shown at all:

  • MIC-3D-20GE-SFP

  • MIC-3D-20GE-SFP-E

  • MPC3E-3D-NG

  • MPC2E-3D-NG

  • MIC3-3D-10XGE-SFPP

  • MIC-3D-20GE-SFP-E
