[SRX] Cannot edit interface from J-Web

0

0

Article ID: KB35039 KB Last Updated: 11 Oct 2019Version: 1.0
Summary:

Users may sometimes find that they cannot edit an interface configuration by using J-Web because the Edit icon is disabled.

This article describes what causes the Edit icon to be disabled on the J-Web interface configuration page and what must be done to resolve the issue.

Symptoms:

When users open interfaces by using J-Web, the Edit icon appears disabled or grayed out.

Cause:

When there is a non-existing interface configuration that was configured by using the Command Line Interface (CLI), we cannot edit that interface configuration by using J-Web.

The above scenario may arise if customers add a module physically, set up the interface configuration by using CLI, and subsequently remove the module physically without removing the corresponding configuration for the interface. It may also occur if the interface is configured even before the module is added.

Solution:

To resolve the issue, users need to remove the interface's configuration by using the Command Line Interface.

Use the following command:

delete interfaces ge-1/0/x <<< x is the interface number.

When this is done, they can edit ports by using J-Web.
