[Sky Enterprise] Authentication problems when connecting to Mist Systems Wifi

Article ID: KB35443 KB Last Updated: 27 Jan 2020Version: 1.0

This article provides a solution to manage Mist Wifi devices from Sky Enterprise without running into issues while trying to authenticate with Mist Wifi Setup.

I am trying to configure Sky Enterprise to manage Wifi Access Points in the same manner as Mist. I already have a username/password that works with Mist, but I am having problems when configuring Sky Enterprise.

Authentication fails as shown in the screenshot below:

The Mist Wifi Setup may have authentication failures if two-factor authentication is already set up on Mist ( This is due to a restriction/requirement in the way that the current Mist API setup works.

To work around this issue, you will need to temporarily disable two-factor authentication (2FA) from Mist. With 2FA disabled on Mist, you can authenticate your Mist Wifi Setup. After you have successfully connected, you can re-enable 2FA on Mist for your account.
