[WLC] How to enable SNMPv3 in Juniper WLC using command line

This article provides the steps to enable SNMPv3 in Juniper Wireless Controllers (WLCs) so as to monitor them from a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) server.



To enable SNMPv3 in WLC using command line, perform the following:

  1. Log in to WLC by using SSH or Telnet via Putty.

  2. Enter the following command from Enable mode:

# ‚Äčset snmp usm snmpv3 snmp-engine-id local access notify-read-write auth-type sha auth-pass-phrase Juniper@123 encrypt-type des encrypt-pass-phrase Juniper@123

  1. To check the SNMP configuration, use the command show configuration area snmp.

  1. The configuration has been tested in SolarWinds SNMP monitoring tool.

  1. The IP address is the WLC's IP address.
