[EX/QFX] Rescue configuration alarm

Summary:

This article explains how to resolve a rescue configuration alarm.

Symptoms:

The following alarm will show ups if the rescue configuration is missing:

root@switch> show system alarms
1 alarms currently active
Alarm time               Class  Description
2020-07-29 18:38:36 CST  Minor  Rescue configuration is not set

A yellow alarm will be displayed in the device and can be recognized with the MIB jnxYellowAlarmState:

root@switch> show snmp mib walk jnxAlarms
jnxAlarmRelayMode.0 = 2
jnxYellowAlarmState.0 = 3   <-- 3 indicates the yellow alarm is ON
jnxYellowAlarmCount.0 = 1
jnxYellowAlarmLastChange.0 = 212218
jnxRedAlarmState.0 = 2
jnxRedAlarmCount.0 = 0
jnxRedAlarmLastChange.0 = 212218
Solution:

To clear the alarm, save the rescue configuration with this command:

>request system configuration rescue save
