MCA (Machine Check Architecture) is an Intel mechanism in which the CPU reports errors to the OS, Intel's processors, as well as the Itanium architecture, implement a machine check architecture that provides a mechanism for detecting and reporting hardware errors. This specific error is for memory errors reported on the Routing Engine of the device.

If this log only appears once, it is most likely that this is a transient issue with RE memory. In that case, reboot the Routing engine and monitor. Ideally, in case of a transient issue, a reboot will re-initiate all functions and processes running on the RE and the RE stabilizes. If the log continues to appear after a reboot, it is suggested to replace the RE. If log still exists even after replacement, contact your JTAC Representative for additional assistance.
