[CSO] The command 'setup_bms.sh' exits with message 'script has to be executed only in physical server'

Article ID: KB36207 KB Last Updated: 08 Sep 2020Version: 1.0
Summary:

The command setup_bms.sh must run on Bare Metal server. It is executed to download the necessary packages for qemu-kvm and bridge-utils. It adds the bridge 'br0' on the BMS server and brings the br0 interface status 'UP'.

Symptoms:

The command 'setup_bms.sh' exits the script.

Cause:

The script checks 'if the recommended OS for CSO is running in a virtual environment'.

Solution:

The 'setup_bms.sh' script has to be executed only in physical server. The reason is because the command executes with hypervisor flag 'grep ^flags.*\ hypervisor /proc/cpuinfo | wc -l', if it submits any value other than '0', which means this is a virtual machine and the script exits with the message 'has to be executed only in physical server'.
