Article ID: KB36217 KB Last Updated: 10 Sep 2020Version: 1.0
Summary:

This article explains how to reset Junos Space authentication mode by using the Junos Space Command Line Interface (CLI).

Symptoms:

Local users are not able to log in to Junos Space WebUI/server after changing the authentication mode to remote only.

Solution:

The procedure to reset Junos Space authentication mode by using Junos Space CLI is as follows:

  1. Log in to Junos Space CLI as the admin user.

  2. Log in to the MySQL database by using the following commands:

# mysql -ujboss -p$(grep mysql.jboss /etc/sysconfig/JunosSpace/pwd | awk -F= '{print $2}') build_db -A
  1. Run the following command to check the authentication mode currently used by Junos Space.

mysql> select * from UserProfile;

  1. Run the following command to change the authentication mode to "Remote_Local" from "Remote":

mysql> update UserProfile set authMode=""Remote_Local"";

Note: If no remote users are configured in your Junos Space server, you can change the authentication mode to "Local" instead of "Remote_Local" from "Remote."

  1. Run the following command to change the authentication mode to "Local" from "Remote":

mysql> update UserProfile set authMode=""Local"";

  1. Log in to the Junos Space WebUI by using the Local user authentication mode.

Note: If you are not able to log in to the Junos Space WebUI even after completing the above steps, a different issue may have occurred. Contact Support for assistance.
