0

0

Article ID: KB36417 KB Last Updated: 08 Jan 2021Version: 1.0
Summary:

Users sometimes may not be able to delete a device in the Sky Enterprise portal and may encounter the "Error configuration database modified" error.

This article clarifies that the error will be seen when another user is logged into the same device in Config mode and has not yet committed a configuration change made recently. Performing a rollback 0 will resolve the issue.

Symptoms:

Attempts to delete a device in Sky Enterprise fails, and a pop-up error with the following message appears: "Error configuration database modified."

Additionally, the following pop-up window appears:

Cause:

This may occur if another user is logged into the same device in Config mode, and has made a configuration change, but has not committed it yet. This will prevent you from deleting the device in Sky Enterprise.

Solution:

To resolve the issue:

  1. Log in to the device using the CLI, and go into Config mode.

  2. You will then want to do a rollback 0. This will roll back the candidate configuration, and then you will be able to delete the device in Sky Enterprise.

Example

On the device in question:

{master:0}
root@EX2300> configure
Entering configuration mode
The configuration has been changed but not committed

{master:0}[edit]
root@cEX2300# rollback 0
load complete

{master:0}[edit]
root@EX2300#

You can now go into Sky Enterprise and delete the device.
