[SRX] Dual CPE cluster formation

0

0

Article ID: KB36464 KB Last Updated: 14 Feb 2021Version: 1.0
Summary:

This article highlights the commands we need to run before running cluster enable commands in Node0 and Node1 of SRX 320 Dual CPE (Both PoE and Non PoE models).

Cause:

In SRX 320 Dual CPE, ge-0/0/0 will act as management physical port after cluster formation. ge-0/0/1 is control port of dual CPE and fabric link can be any ethernet port ge-0/0/3 to ge-0/0/7.

Due to DHCP config present on ge-0/0/0 and switching config (VLANn related config) present on ge-0/0/1 and fabric link port, secondary node will go into "Secondary-hold" state.

Solution:
Go to Edit mode of SRX 320 nodes and run the following commands before running cluster enable commands to overcome this issue.
root> edit
root# delete interfaces ge-0/0/0
root# delete interfaces ge-0/0/1
root# delete interfaces <Fabric_link>
root# delete security zones security-zone untrust interfaces ge-0/0/0.0
root# delete access address-assignment pool junosDHCPPool family inet dhcp-attributes propogate-settings ge-0/0/0.0
root# commit and-quit
