[CSO] How to perform site upgrade for Provider Hubs in CSO 5.1.2

Summary:
 

This article details how to perform site upgrade for Provider Hubs in Contrail Service Orchestration (CSO) 5.1.2.

 

Symptoms:
 

A site upgrade was performed because CSO was upgraded from 4.1.2 to 5.1.2. Now the sites too must be upgraded in CSO 5.1.2. 

In this case, we are upgrading the Provider Hubs from Junos OS Release D173.1 to Junos OS Release 19.3R2-S4.5.

 

Solution:
 

Perform the following steps:

  1. Before upgrading the Provider Hub in CSO 5.1.2, first upload the required image (junos-srxmr-x86-64-19.3R2-S4.5.tgz) to CSO under CSO > Images as shown in the following screenshot. Navigate by using the path CSO > Global > Resource > Images.

  1. The uploaded device image will be shown as under:

 

Pre-Copying the Junos OS Image on Hub

  1. Before deploying the upgrade, pre-copy the target platform image to the Hub. The target directory on the node (Hub) is /var/tmp/.

  2. After the file is copied to the Provider Hub, verify the md5 checksum for the image.

 

Performing Site Upgrade for Provider Hub

  1. Navigate to Devices List and select the check box for the target Provider Hub. Click More at the top right corner and select Upgrade.
