[JSA] Admin password not being recognized after installation

After setting the admin password during the installation wizard, the login fails if it is entered during subsequent WebUI login attempts. This article provides a reason and a workaround.



A known good password that is set during installation is not being accepted for the admin user during WebUI login.



This appears to be caused by using the Tab key to move from the password field to the Finish key during initial installation for the admin password.



Use the following instructions to work around this problem:

  • If issue is known in advance, refrain from using the Tab key on the Admin password page in the installation wizard.

  • If the issue has already occurred, use the following process to resolve the issue:

    • Run the following script on the console:

      # /opt/qradar/support/ -a
    • Change the admin password by following the instructions.

    • Open the WebUI and give the new password.

      You should be prompted to change it to a secure password, and then will be able to log in with it successfully henceforth.
