[MX] How to configure a l2circuit and stitch into a BGP signaled VPLS instance

0

Article ID: KB36563 KB Last Updated: 10 Mar 2021Version: 1.0
Summary:

In case LDP signaled VPLS is not available, you may need to add a l2circuit into a BGP signaled VPLS instance.

Solution:

In this example, PE1 can only have l2circuit configured, and remote PE2 has VPLS configured. Before you begin, make sure PE1 and PE2 have IGP and LDP reachability.

PE1 100.0.0.1

set interfaces et-5/0/2 flexible-vlan-tagging
set interfaces et-5/0/2 encapsulation flexible-ethernet-services
set interfaces et-5/0/2 unit 1111 encapsulation vlan-ccc
set interfaces et-5/0/2 unit 1111 vlan-id 1111
set interfaces et-5/0/2 unit 1111 family ccc

set protocols l2circuit neighbor 200.0.0.1 interface et-5/0/2.1111 virtual-circuit-id 11111
set protocols l2circuit neighbor 200.0.0.1 interface et-5/0/2.1111 encapsulation-type ethernet
set protocols l2circuit neighbor 200.0.0.1 interface et-5/0/2.1111 ignore-mtu-mismatch

PE2 200.0.0.1

set interfaces xe-5/0/0 flexible-vlan-tagging
set interfaces xe-5/0/0 encapsulation flexible-ethernet-services
set interfaces xe-5/0/0 unit 1111 encapsulation vlan-vpls
set interfaces xe-5/0/0 unit 1111 vlan-id 1111
set interfaces xe-5/0/0 unit 1111 family vpls

set routing-instances rename-session protocols vpls control-word
set routing-instances rename-session protocols vpls no-tunnel-services
set routing-instances rename-session protocols vpls site aside automatic-site-id
set routing-instances rename-session protocols vpls mesh-group l2circuit vpls-id 11111
set routing-instances rename-session protocols vpls mesh-group l2circuit neighbor 100.0.0.1
set routing-instances rename-session instance-type vpls
set routing-instances rename-session vlan-id 1111
set routing-instances rename-session interface xe-5/0/0.1111
set routing-instances rename-session vrf-target target:36731:1234
